I am currently studying my Masters of Education (Leadership & Management) through QUT. Part of this course, there is a unit called 'Inquiry Learning' and a component of the unit is to create a blog, documenting our inquiry re-search journey and critiquing search engines such as Google, Google Scholar, A+ Education, ProQuest and Social Media platforms. In Module 1 you will find the steps I took throughout my inquiry re-search journey. Social Curation is a collection of the quality sources I found a long the way, all annotated and then shared digitially on Scoop.it! for a more appealing and visually enhancing summary. Module 1 will also provide you with my Response based around my primary questions, final Reflection of my journey as well as comments I made on my colleagues' blog to give them peer feedback. Please feel free to comment! I think it is such an important part of teaching and learning to be able to receive constructive criticism and use it to improve as well as listen to the positive feedback so you know what worked well for next time! Every comment is helpful :) Why is inquiry re-search like a variety of yoga moves?Images Retrieved from Misato Alexandre. Copyright held by Fitwirr, Inc Portland, USA Being a lover of Yoga, I feel that many situations we find ourselves in as human beings consist of 'going through the motions' - one step at a time. In a Yoga class, you need to do the poses in a specific order so you do not injure yourself. Inquiry learning can be closely linked to the metaphor of Yoga as there is a certain order of thinking and steps involved that will enhance the probability of finding the solution to a problem or most successful outcome to an inquiry question. Each Yoga pose is outlined below and explains how it can relate to the process of inquiry learning. Please refer to the images above - unless you are also a potential Yogi! Downward Dog (Initial Post) - The beginning of all Yoga Classes - with our head down and bum up! To begin the inquiry re-search process we all need to stretch and find out as much background information about inquiry learning before moving forward. By stretching appropriately will be well prepared to begin our re-search journey. The Cobra (Expert Searching) - Head forward, chest out - Attack! The vast amount of new information calls for a full open body yoga pose, attacking position, to ensure all the information is taken in. Tree Pose (Social Curation) - Look to the skies with all your new information and combine it all! Warrior Pose (Final Post) - Stand strong and be proud of your achievements! A strong reflection is imperative to the inquiry process which therefore, requires a strong yoga pose. Corpse Pose (Peer Feedback) - Now it is time to relax and take on all the feedback, good and bad, so you can make positive changes!
